Dramatic Natural Light Enlivens Space + Cuts Energy Costs Grassroots Leadership Network* is a non-profit organization that supports grassroots leadership and promotes civic participation to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in local underrepresented communities, specifically Marin City, San Rafael's Canal Area, West Marin and parts of Novato. Centrally located at North San Pedro Road in San Rafael, this was a project of the Marin Community Foundation. Kappe Architects designed a 3,000 square foot tenant improvement consisting of private offices, workstations, and a library/training room. [Click banner photo above/bottom right corner to enlarge]

*Project Successes Achieved Through Design*

	+	The combination of strategically placed clear and translucent glass panels successfully brings light coming through the corner windows deep into the heart of the workspace

	+	There is a greatly reduced need for electrical lighting during the daytime, hence achieving lower energy costs
